Archive Devices

Take control of your tracker list by archiving devices you no longer need in your active view.

The Archive feature helps you keep your Trackers page clean and organized. Instead of leaving inactive devices cluttering your tracker list, you can archive them β€” removing them from your active view, the map, and any Scout queries or alerts. Archived devices are fully recoverable within a 10-day window, so you can always bring them back if needed. This article covers how the tracker list tabs work, how to archive a device, and how to unarchive one.

πŸ“‹ Tracker List Tabs

At the top of your tracker list panel β€” just below All Trackers and Groups β€” you'll find three tabs that control which devices appear in your list:

  • Active β€” Displays all your currently active trackers. This is the default view you're already familiar with.

  • Provisioned β€” Displays devices that have been provisioned but may not yet be actively in use.

  • Archived β€” Displays devices that have been archived and removed from your active list.

These tabs work as toggles. By default, only your Active devices are shown. Clicking an additional tab adds that category to your current view β€” so clicking Provisioned while Active is selected shows both active and provisioned devices together. Clicking Archived adds archived devices as well, giving you a combined view of all three categories.

To narrow your view, click any active tab again to deselect it. For example, if you only want to see archived devices, deselect Active and Provisioned so that only Archived remains selected.

πŸ› οΈ How to Archive Devices

  1. In your Active device list, tick the checkbox next to each tracker you want to archive. A selection bar will appear at the top of the tracker list panel showing how many devices are selected. You can also use Select All to select every device in your current view.

  2. Click the Archive option in the top-right corner of the tracker list panel. A confirmation pop-up will appear.

  3. The confirmation pop-up will remind you that archived devices will be:

    • Removed from your tracker list and map

    • Excluded from Scout queries and alerts

    • Recoverable for 10 days, after which they will be permanently archived

  4. Type the word Archive in the text field provided, then click the Archive button. The selected device(s) will now be archived and will no longer appear in your Active list.

To deselect devices before archiving, click Clear next to the Archive option, or untick individual checkboxes.

πŸ”„ How to Unarchive Devices

  1. Click the Archived tab at the top of your tracker list panel to display your archived devices.

  2. Tick the checkbox next to each archived tracker you want to unarchive. A selection bar will appear at the top of the tracker list panel showing how many devices are selected. You can also use Select All to select every device in your current view.

  3. Click the Unarchive option in the top-right corner of the tracker list panel. A confirmation pop-up will appear.

  4. Click the Unarchive button to confirm. The selected device(s) will move back to your Active list immediately, and normal tracking, alerts, and Scout queries will resume.

To deselect devices before unarchiving, click Clear next to the Unarchive option, or untick individual checkboxes.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Archived devices are recoverable for 10 days. After that window, the device will be permanently archived and cannot be restored from the Archived tab.

  • Archiving a device removes it from the map and excludes it from all Scout queries and alerts β€” make sure you no longer need active tracking on that device before archiving.

  • Unarchiving a device restores it to your Active list and resumes all normal functionality right away.
