Steps for Replacing the Battery in Your Asset 432 Tracker

  1. Remove Screw Caps and Screws:

    • Use a pointed tool to press down and out on the small divots next to each of the four screw caps on the back of the unit to remove them.

    • Unscrew the four screws using a Phillips #2 (PH2) screwdriver or drill bit.

  2. Open and Detach the Shells:

    • Use a flat prying tool to lift the tab at the bottom right corner of the back of the device, then separate the upper and lower shells to expose the internal board.

  3. Power Off the Device and Remove the PCB:

    • Move the power switch to the OFF position.

    • Use a Phillips #00 or #0 screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the board. Gently lift the board and battery together out of the lower shell.

  4. Replace the Battery and Reassemble:

    • Unplug the old battery and plug in the new one. Place the board back into the lower shell and secure it with the four small screws, ensuring the battery wires are not pinched.

    • Move the power switch to the ON position. Press and hold the small button next to the power switch until a blue LED appears, then release the button.

    • Align and snap the upper and lower shells back together, being cautious not to accidentally switch the device off. Reinstall the screws and screw caps.

  5. Verify LED Status and Reset Battery Percentage:

    • Ensure the green LED is flashing slowly. If no LED is visible, the power switch may be off; open the device and repeat the previous steps if necessary.

  6. Reset Battery Percentage:

    • Log into your tracking platform and issue the “Reset Battery Indicator to 100%” command. Allow up to 24 hours for the reset to take effect. Keep the device powered on and in an area with strong signal reception.

Tip:

For best results, handle all components with care and ensure that the battery wires are properly connected and not pinched during reassembly. If the device doesn’t power on or the LED doesn’t flash as expected, double-check the battery connections and the power switch position.
