While your dashboard provides real-time visibility and your tracker's details page shows up to 90 days of live history, sometimes you need to dig deeper. Whether for investigative research, case reviews, compliance, or simply long-term operational analysis, our Reports feature is your tool for unlocking comprehensive historical data. This is especially helpful for employers or those requiring detailed records beyond the standard 90-day window. Let's explore how to generate, customize, and secure your valuable tracking insights.

Why Generate Reports?

Our platform actively stores up to 90 days of live tracking history, which you can view on your tracker's individual map. However, the Reports feature offers crucial extended benefits:

  • Long-Term Record-Keeping: Need data from over three months ago? Reports allow you to save tracking history for as long as your account is active, providing a permanent digital record even if trackers are canceled or removed from your active fleet. This is invaluable for legal compliance, audit trails, or historical case reviews.

  • In-Depth Analysis: Move beyond basic map views to extract detailed data points (like timestamps, locations, speeds, and geofences) in a structured format, perfect for external analysis tools like Excel.

  • Targeted Investigations: Easily pull data for specific assets, date ranges, or events to support your investigative efforts.

Important Note: Your Data and Report Integrity

While our platform is built for reliability, it's crucial to understand the nature of digital data storage:

  • Platform History vs. Saved Reports: The live tracking history on the map is actively maintained for up to 90 days.

  • Reports for Permanent Records: Any report you generate and save (or download) becomes a static record.

  • Backup Your Critical Reports: In the rare event of an unforeseen platform issue, reports that have not been downloaded and saved by you may be difficult or impossible for our engineering team to retrieve. For any data critical to your operations, compliance, or legal needs, we strongly recommend you download and save copies of your reports to your own secure storage. This ensures you have a permanent backup regardless of external factors.

Accessing and Generating Your Reports

Ready to pull some data? Here’s how to navigate and generate your comprehensive reports:

  1. Navigate to the Reports Tab:

    • Log in to your account. On the landing page of the platform, look at the menu just above the map.

    • You'll find the "Reports" tab located right beside the "Alerts" feature.

    • Click on the "Reports" tab.

  2. Select Your Report Parameters:

    • When you first access the Reports section, you'll see options to define your report:

      • Tracker Selection: Use the dropdown menu to choose the specific tracker you want to generate a report for.

      • Date Range Filter: Use the calendar icon to select the specific date or range of dates for the historical data you wish to include in your report. This can extend beyond the 90-day live history.

  3. Generate and Save Your Report:

    • Once you've selected your desired tracker(s) and date range, click the "Save Report" button located beside the calendar.

    • The system will then process your request and immediately provide you with a generated report. This report will be available for two key actions:

      • Download: You can download a copy of the report (typically in Excel format (.xlsx)) to your device for your records.

      • Public URL: You may also have the option to generate a public URL for the report, allowing you to share specific historical data with external stakeholders without requiring them to log in to your account.
