Understanding your asset's journey isn't just about real-time location; often, you need to look back at past movements, stops, and events. The GPX platform makes it incredibly easy to pull up historical data for any specific tracker, view its path on the map, and even download detailed reports for your analysis. Let's see how!

Accessing Past Tracker Data

To view historical data, you'll first navigate to the individual tracker's details page:

  1. Select Your Tracker. From your main dashboard, click on the specific tracker whose historical data you wish to explore. This will take you to its dedicated "Tracker Details Page."

  2. Open the Date/Time Selector. On the Tracker Details Page, look just above the map. You'll find a calendar icon or date range selector. This is your gateway to historical reports. Click on this selector to open the date and time filtering options.

  3. Choose and Refine Your Date Range:

You have a few flexible ways to select your desired period:

    • Navigate Day-by-Day: For quick adjustments, use the left and right arrow buttons located next to the date field. Each click will move the displayed data one day backward or forward.

    • Select a Custom Range: Click the date field to open the calendar. Click once on your desired start date, then click again on your desired end date. The map will update to show the tracking history across that entire period.

    • View a Single Day: Double-click on a specific date in the calendar to view all reports for that chosen day (from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM local time).

    • Refine by Specific Time: For high-frequency trackers (like real-time models that report every 30 seconds), you might want to focus on a particular segment of the day. Use the time selectors (usually located below the date fields) to pinpoint exact start and end times within your selected date(s). This helps you avoid being "bombarded" with an entire day's worth of reports and lets you zoom in on critical moments.

  4. Once your selection is complete, click 'Apply'. The map will automatically update, displaying the tracker's complete path and all reported data points for your selected date and time range. You can zoom in and out to analyze its movements.

Downloading Your Historical Reports ⬇️

For deeper analysis or record-keeping, you can easily download the data presented on the map.

  1. Locate the Download Button:

    • On the Tracker Details Page, look for the download icon (often appears as a down arrow). It's typically located just a couple of buttons away from the calendar/date range selector, near the top of the map view.

  2. Receive Your Report:

    • A copy of the historical data for your selected period will be automatically downloaded to your device as an Excel file (.xlsx). You can then open this file for further analysis, auditing, or integration with your own systems.
