The GPX Smart Label is an ultra-thin, adhesive sticker–based, single-use shipment tracker designed for cost-effective, one-way logistics. Activated by tearing along the dotted line, the Smart Label can be applied directly to cartons, parcels, or packaging surfaces and immediately begins transmitting location signals detected by nearby iPhones—enabling location updates through a terrestrial, crowdsourced smartphone mesh.

By leveraging Apple’s Find My® network, the Smart Label delivers shipment visibility without GPS, cellular service, or dedicated gateways. Designed for simplicity and sustainability, it combines a paper-thin sticker form factor with an eco-friendly zinc-manganese battery and recyclable materials—making it ideal for high-volume, low-cost tracking where device recovery is not required.

🔋 Key Features

  • Disposable, ultra-thin adhesive sticker tracker

  • Crowdsourced location visibility via Apple Find My® network

  • Detected by nearby iPhones using a terrestrial smartphone mesh

  • No GPS, cellular service, or fixed gateways required

  • Up to 60 days of battery life

  • Eco-friendly Zn-Mn battery and recyclable materials

  • Tear-to-activate design for fast deployment

  • Lightweight, paper-thin form factor for label-level tracking

📡 Reporting & Location

SmartLabel uses Apple’s Find My® network to report location.

Here’s what that means in simple terms:

  • SmartLabel does not use GPS or cellular service

  • It currently works only with Apple’s Find My network

  • No pairing or subscriptions are required

How locations are collected:

  • The SmartLabel broadcasts a Bluetooth signal every 2 minutes

  • When an iPhone passes nearby, it securely relays the tracker’s location

  • GPX systems receive and process these location updates approximately every 10 minutes

Example:

If the SmartLabel broadcasts at 12:02, 12:04, 12:06, 12:08, and 12:10, all detected locations are delivered to your tracking view at 12:10.

Because of this:

  • Location updates may appear in batches

  • Update frequency depends on how often iPhones pass near the tracker

  • Coverage improves in populated and transit-dense areas

This approach allows SmartLabel to operate without a subscription, remain ultra-lightweight, and support disposable, high-volume tracking use cases.

⚡ Activating Your SmartLabel Tracker

Once your account is ready and your device is registered:

  1. Cut or remove the activation tab attached to the SmartLabel

  2. The device will automatically power on and begin reporting, and will become visible on the GPX platform within approximately 15–30 minutes

  3. No buttons or additional steps are required

Activation occurs immediately after the tab is removed. Initial visibility may take a short period as the device is first detected by the network.

📦 Placing Your SmartLabel

To install the tracker on your shipment:

  1. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive

  2. Adhere the SmartLabel to the interior or exterior of the package

  3. Choose a location that minimizes crushing and avoids heavy metal obstruction

  4. Once placed, ship your package as normal

For best performance, apply the SmartLabel to a flat surface with minimal shielding.
