🔧 Overview

GPX BLE-enabled trackers are designed to enhance asset visibility by pairing with a primary GPS tracking device (like AssetTrack or AssetTrack Mini). These Bluetooth tags transmit their presence to nearby trackers, allowing you to monitor tools, inventory, pallets, or stationary assets—even without direct GPS connectivity.

Installation is simple, and pairing is automatic once within range of an active tracker.

🔩 What You’ll Need

  • A BLE-enabled tracker (AssetTag or AssetTag Edge)

  • A paired GPS tracking device (e.g., AssetTrack, AssetTrack Mini)

  • Access to the GPX Intelligence platform

  • Optional: Mounting tools (zip ties, adhesive, screws)

🛠️ Installation Steps

1. Choose Mounting Location

  • Mount tags in areas where the paired GPS tracker has regular line-of-sight (typically within 75–150 feet)

  • For pallet or container tracking, attach tags to an exposed flat surface

  • Avoid placing tags inside fully enclosed metal containers

2. Secure the Tracker

  • AssetTag: Mount using screws, adhesive, or hanger brackets

  • AssetTag Edge: Lightweight enough for adhesive or zip tie mounting

📌 Note:

  • Make sure the label side is facing outward and not obstructed by dense material

  • Both BLE tags are shipped powered on and ready to broadcast—no manual pairing required.

🔗 BLE Pairing Process

Once powered, the BLE tag will automatically:

  • Broadcast its signal every few seconds

  • Be detected and paired by a nearby GPX tracker (such as AssetTrack or AssetTrack Mini)

  • Appear in the GPX platform, showing either:

    • Its last known location (if associated with a fixed point), or

    • The location of the paired tracker (if assigned to a mobile asset)

🔍 You can view BLE tag signals and battery status in the GPX platform under Devices > BLE Tags.

🧠 Best Practices

  • Ensure BLE tags are mounted within the read range of an active tracker or optional GPX BLE gateway

  • Use groups or geofences to organize BLE-tagged assets by location or type

  • Replace batteries proactively based on battery level notifications or service schedules

  • Use BLE tags for low-cost, high-volume visibility on pallets, containers, tools, or inventory

🧩 Use Cases

  • Warehouse inventory: Stick AssetTag Edge to crates or pallets

  • Tool tracking: Attach AssetTag to high-value handheld equipment

  • Returnable containers: Monitor movement when they come within range of a tracker in a truck or yard
